When I joined, the UI and UX of the application was in need of some major improvements.
The application lacked a design system and had numerous inconsistencies. Additionally, the user experience needed significant improvements. My challenge was to explore and develop concepts for the application, including new flows, layouts, and designs. I investigated how various patterns and components could be applied to different use cases and contexts. This effort proved highly valuable, laying the foundation for the product's new design system and enhanced user experience.
Calendar
Solution: The calendar is a single place to see all upcoming tasks, broken down by different groupings, such as by Workflow and Entity.
Dashboard
Solution: The Dashboard serves as the central place to get a story of the status of the team's progress for the Close.
Navigation
Solution: The navigation was a real challenge, as it was not a typical and simple navigation. Addressing the information architecture of the different sections and pages, I created a new app-wide navigation.
Tables
Solution: Tables are the heart of the application, and having tables that are easy to ingest and interact with was key. Many micro-interactions were incorporated. The tables were designed system-wide, and not on their own, as they have to work as an entire system.
Tasks
Solution: Tasks is the heart of the application, so it was important to create a clear table that surfaced just the right amount of information and actions.
Reconcilliations
Solution: What could be a cumbersome and difficult to use table, Reconciliations turned out to be an intuitive process.
Wizards
Solution: Introducing wizards and walk-through's greatly helped with onboarding, gathering information, and setting up processes.
Modals
Solution: Well-designed modals enable users to concentrate on the task at hand in a straightforward and focused manner.
Reports
Solution: Interactive reporting tables are beneficial for presenting complex data and allowing users to engage with it.
Single Items
Solution: The application lacked a unified item view where all information related to a single item could be displayed and interacted with in one place.
Dashboard
Solution: The dashboard was hard to interpret and lacked quality visual design. I developed several prototypes for the new dashboard.
